20 places to have your Christmas tree pruned in and around Victoria

Another Christmas season has passed.

Depending on when you like to wrap up your decorations and take the tree apart, you might be trying to figure out where you can get this year’s tree chipped!

Before recycling, be sure to remove all screws, nails, lights, and ornaments from the tree. These items can be potentially hazardous if passed through shredding equipment.

When you’re ready to finish your holiday celebrations, here are 20 places to have your Christmas tree pruned in and around Victoria:

Easter Seals Christmas Tree Recycling Fundraiser

This holiday, donate your tree and also support the Shawnigan Easter Seals Camp, a night and day summer camp program for children and adults with disabilities.

You can drop off your tree with a cash donation at Tillicum Shopping Center, Save-On-Foods (Fort & Foul Bay), Westshore Town Center, University Heights Shopping Center, and Broadmead Village Shopping Center. There are also drop-off points at Mill Bay, Shawnigan Lake and Duncan.

Pickup on January 8 is also available for the Greater Victoria area for a minimum donation of $ 20. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. You can register here.

McKenzie Elementary School

McKenzie Elementary School and Bartlett Tree Extracts are teaming up for their annual Christmas tree chipping fundraiser.

The event operates through donations, with profits going towards the creation of outdoor learning spaces.
