a new dog rescue is coming to the Ozarks!

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – In our Leigh’s Lost and Found today, a new animal rescue is preparing to open.

Mallory Dunbar is the creator of the new organization.

She is a foster family for 4 The Love of K9 and takes care of some of the more difficult cases like puppies with Parvo and emergency rescues of injured dogs.

This passion for puppies now extends to Mallory who is transforming an outhouse and land behind his Nixa home, into a new dog shelter for southwestern Missouri.

She tells us, “I wanted to be able to give them a place to house dogs for a short time to prepare foster families for the dogs.

She and her husband transform the outbuilding into a space to comfortably accommodate 12 dogs at a time.

They also plan to fence off a large outdoor area so the dogs have plenty of room to run around.

“They will have their own separate kennels where it is their safe space. But then if they get along with other dogs, they can come here and run and play as much as they want.

Mallory calls it Rescue, Love Repeat. She already runs it on Facebook and has her 501 C3.

“We will be able to get a license, I have already applied for it, as soon as we have built the shelter.”

Her goal is to open its doors by this spring and help stray and needy dogs live their best lives.

“It’s a great passion for me. Since I was little I have always loved dogs and wanted to help in any way I could. This is definitely a dream come true for me and I am very grateful for the support I have received so far.
