About BCV

Founded in 1964 as a branch of the Syracuse and Onondaga County Volunteer Center, the Baldwinsville Volunteer Center became an independent agency in 1998 after United Way took over the regional organization and closed the satellite sites.

In addition to connecting potential volunteers with causes that fit their skills and schedule, the BVC offers a variety of programs for residents of the Baldwinsville Central School District, such as the Baldwinsville Christmas Office and HELP (Household Essentials for Living Pantry).

Barb Presley, BVC Board Chair, urges the community to donate their time to organizations that support the elderly, people with disabilities, refugees and the economically disadvantaged.

“Locally, Silver Fox, Syracuse Home, the Baldwinsville Community Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels are all well-established organizations that are supported by volunteers year-round,” Presley said.
