Bar K9 seeks to bring help to the Humane Society of the Black Hills “howliday”

RAPID CITY, SD – The second annual PetsGiving Bar K9 supply campaign is officially underway. All items brought in will be donated to the Humane Society of the Black Hills.

Located in the Rushmore Mall next to JCPenney’s, the location is a focal point of the building, where people can simply drop off supplies and spend the rest of their day.

The Humane Society has published a list of the items they need, with dog and cat food among many others.

“The things they look for are bed sheets, dog food, cat food, things like that; toys. And we really just want to help the pets that need it, ”said Emily Batman, Bar K9 co-owner. “And also help the Humane Society because obviously they need the community to help donate items to these animals so that they can have some kind of normalcy within the shelter.”

After the November 30 deadline, supplies will then be brought to the Humane Society of the Black Hills.

Of course, Bar K9 has not forgotten the two-legged companions bringing donations.

“We will drop off the supplies at the humanitarian company the first week of December,” said Batman. “At that point, each person who comes throughout the month and makes a donation, we write down their information and then we will do a draw at the end for certain prizes.”

Their next event is in December. For $ 10, dog owners can have their picture taken with Santa Claus. All money raised during the event will be donated to STARS (Save Them All Rescue Service) Hot Springs.
