Hoover Police and fire rescue child left in car at Riverchase Galleria

An investigation is underway in Hoover after first responders rescued an 8-month-old boy from a car parked outside the Riverchase Galleria on Wednesday afternoon. Hoover Police Captain Keith Czeskleba said the Hoover 911 Center received a call around 1:34 p.m. from a concerned citizen who saw the little boy alone in a car in the Macy’s parking lot. Czeskleba said firefighters and police arrived at the scene and forced the car to save him. Paramedics at the scene assessed the little boy and determined that hospitalization was not necessary. Hoover Police located the grandmother inside the mall with three other children. She was detained and taken to Hoover City Prison. All four children were turned over to the Jefferson County DHR.
