Michigan Pet Alliance Launches 2021 Grants and Awards Program
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Michigan., August 6, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Michigan Pet Alliance (MPA) Announces 2021 Grants and Awards Program for Animal Shelters and Rescue Organizations in Michigan. This year’s theme is Lessons from COVID-19. Two prizes of $ 1,500 each is available for Michigan animal shelters and rescue organizations demonstrating positive changes to operations in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The MPA invites licensed shelters and nonprofit relief organizations to apply for a grant by providing detailed information on how something good, and possibly unexpected, resulted from a difficult and tragic global pandemic. Positive operational changes can come from any area, from admission to adoptions, cleaning protocols to customer service. In addition to $ 1,500 cash prize, each winner will receive a one-year MPA membership, plaque and public recognition in the animal welfare community.
Both grants are made possible through the generosity of the Humane Society of Macomb Foundation.
MPA also awards two additional training and development scholarships. The first is a free home appraisal, worth $ 3,000. A shelter assessment includes a site visit, interviews with key personnel and a review of operational equipment. A detailed report of recommended changes and improvements will be provided to the shelter. Shelter management reviews the report, then an online conference call is scheduled to review the master plan report and answer questions. The report also includes resource lists and sample documents, and the report and timeline can be used to gauge achievements towards improvements.
The second is a training grant worth $ 1,000. This grant includes training for on-site staff and volunteers, as well as various training modules that can be tailored to the specific needs of a shelter.
There is no charge to apply for any of the scholarships. Applications with attachments must be submitted by midnight ET on Monday, August 30, 2021, on this link https://form.jotform.com/212124189745053. Winners will be notified by September 30, 2021.
