Skout’s Honor Passes 10 Million Rescue Animal Meal Donations
OCEANSIDE, Calif. —announced a milestone by donating more than 10 million meals to animal rescues across the country through its Skout’s Paw Pledge program.
The Oceanside-based company is known for its environmentally and socially responsible pet essential products. Since the company was founded in 2015, the Paw Pledge (meaning a day’s worth of food donated for every Skout’s Honor product sold), has been able to have a significant positive impact in conjunction with Greater Good Charities.
In 2021, and in response to many people looking for companionship throughout the pandemic, the pet industry has seen an unprecedented increase in pet adoptions (70% of U.S. households, or approximately 90.5 million families now own a pet, according to the 2021-2022 National Pet Owners Survey conducted by the American Pet Products Association). Additionally, with food being one of the highest costs for pet rescues in the United States, Skout’s Honor has continued to make a positive impact by raising more adoptable pets through its large donations of meal.
“It is with great pleasure that I acknowledge the generous donations we continue to receive from Skout’s Honor through their Skout’s Paw Pledge program, and I am thrilled to join them in celebrating their 10 million meals,” said Liz. Baker, CEO of Great Good Charities. “Ten million meals is an incredible achievement. Skout’s Honor is one of our first donors and their continued support means a world of difference to the communities we serve as we work to fulfill our mission to protect people, animals and the planet. These gifts change the lives of shelter animals in need across the country.”
Through the company’s ongoing partnership with Greater Good Charities, a national non-profit organization working to amplify good in the world, the company has been able to contribute significant positive impact.
“Every day, Skout’s Honor is driven by our core values of enhancing the relationship between pets and the people who love them – which is often a relationship that begins at a rescue center or adoption center. We’re proud of the commitment we’ve made to supporting the welfare and care of rescue animals since our company’s inception – and the Paw Pledge is something we – and our customers – take very seriously” , said Jenny Gilcrest, Skout’s Honorary Vice President of Marketing, “Ten million meals is no small feat – but having now reached this milestone, we are more inspired than ever to amplify our impact even further.”
