Stimulus payment update: Who would get those $350 checks?
Ohio residents will receive stimulus payments worth $350, if the Ohio Democrat who is running for governor, Nan WhaleyI selected.
The state will receive $2.68 billion under the U.S. bailout, and 7.4 million Ohio citizens will receive a financial boost to make ends meet.
American citizens are struggling with rising grocery and gas prices. Whale urged the current governor Mike DeWine to help families by releasing part of the funds it will receive in the coming weeks.
“The people of Ohio are hurting right now, whether it’s high gas prices or rising costs at the grocery store,” Whale said.
“Governor DeWine should do everything in his power to help reduce those costs as corporate profits soar, but we’ve seen time and time again that he’s more interested in taking care of his special-interest donors and friends . When I’m governor, the families of Ohio will be my priority.
“That’s why I’m offering an inflation rebate of $350 per person, or $700 per couple, for Ohio’s middle class to offset high gas prices and other rising costs. .”
Who would get those $350 checks in Ohio?
Ohio will receive the funds soon, but the current governor has not revealed plans on how his administration intends to spend the aforementioned amount.
Meanwhile, Whale suggested that single residents receive a stimulus payment of $350, with joint filers receiving double that figure, or $700.
The income limit for single registrants would be set at $80,000 and for joint registrants it would be $160,000.
For the proposal to be accepted, Whale must win the election which will not take place until Tuesday, November 8, 2022. However, a recent poll gave the incumbent governor DeWine a 19-point lead over Whaley.
The winner of the 2022 gubernatorial election will not be sworn in until January 9, 2023.
