Two people traveled to area trauma center after crash with motor vehicle in Helen

On Thursday, October 28, 2021, at approximately 3:45 p.m., police, fire and rescue personnel responded to the area of ​​30059 Point Lookout Road and Foley Mattingly Road in Helen, in the reported serious motor vehicle collision with two car bombs .

The teams arrived at the scene and found two vehicles on the roadway involved in a head-on collision, one of which was stuck.

Volunteer firefighters from Mechanicsville, Hollywood and Leonardtown responded and cleared the victims in less than 15 minutes.

A helicopter has been requested for a seriously injured adult male and a second patient whose severity of injuries is unknown.

Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 7 landed nearby and transported the two patients to an area trauma center.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office has responded and is investigating the crash.
