US bailout cut healthcare costs for millions of Americans before August 15 deadline to cover themselves on HealthCare.gov
August 9, 2021 – Last week, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released new data that shows returning consumers can save, on average, 40% on their monthly premiums thanks to improved tax credits in the American Rescue Plan (ARP), which President Biden proposed to expand as part of his Rebuilding a Better Agenda. Since the introduction of tax credits on April 1, 2021, 34% of new and old consumers have found coverage for $ 10 or less per month on HealthCare.gov. In the last two remaining weeks of the 2021 Special Enrollment Period (SEP), the Biden-Harris administration is encouraging all Americans who need quality and affordable health care coverage to enroll on HealthCare .gov before August 15th. In addition, consumers who have received, or who are approved to receive Unemployment benefits for any week starting in 2021, may be able to find even lower cost plans and save additional money on personal expenses through HealthCare.gov due to enhanced ARP tax credits.
