Wine & Wags event provides fun for wine lovers and dogs

Livermore Valley Wineries partners with Animal Rescues to promote adoption

Livermore Valley, Calif. (March 25, 2022) – Friendly dogs and their wine-loving owners will want to plan a visit to the Livermore Valley wine region for Wine & Wags to be held April 30 from 12 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Over 25 local wineries are participating and many will are associated with Bay Area. animal rescue organizations to organize a day of wine tasting, dog adoptions and fun activities for dogs and their owners.

Thanks to the involvement of more than a dozen local animal rescue organizations, many dogs looking for homes will be available for adoption at wineries during the event. Guests are encouraged to bring their friendly dogs on a leash to enjoy the day, but pets are not necessary.

Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy grassy lawns, dog obstacle courses, a costume contest, treats and more throughout the day. Many wineries will offer discounts on bottles of wine in addition to pet-themed food and gifts with purchase. A sample of activities includes:

  • A dog costume contest at the Vignobles de Retzlaff
  • A dog photo booth and belly massage station at Rosa Fierro Wineries
  • An obstacle course for dogs at Garré Vineyard & Winery
  • Animal Portraits at Concannon Vineyards

Dog treats will be available at many wineries, including the “Pup Bar” at Fenestra Winery, “BARcuterie” boxes at Nottingham Cellars, homemade dog biscuits at Dante Robere Vineyards, and more. Several wineries will be offering handcrafted products for sale such as dog scarves and toys at the Almost Famous, Concannon Vineyard’s “Dashing Dogs Boutique”, Las Positas Vineyards’ “Dog Mah Boutique Barkery & Spa”, and more again.

Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF), Calpaws K9 Rescue, Contra Costa County Animal Services, Coppers Dream Rescue, Destiny’s Hope, East Bay SPCA, German Shepherd Rescue of North America, Ozzie’s Pound Puppies, Paws in Need, Tiny Paws Pug Rescue, Umbrella of Hope, Valley Humane Society and Wings of Rescue.

Tickets for Wine & Wags are $30 in advance at www.LVwine.org and $35 at the event. Each ticket includes admission to participating wineries, a festive GoVino glass from Livermore Valley Wine Country, at least two wine tastings at each winery, and access to event activities. Companion dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
